Here at Win Borneo Travel & Tour, your privacy is important to us, and it is part of our principle to respect it with regards to any Personal Data we may collect from you across any of our channels such as our website, winborneo.com, social media sites and any other sites that we own.

The Personal Data or information that is provided should be by you or someone on your behalf who you have authorised to make or inquire about a booking from us. We obtain consent by:

  • Third-Party consent (i.e. from the travel agent on your behalf, or the passenger/traveller booking on your behalf to whom you have provided your Personal Data or information for such purpose);

Win Borneo Travel & Tour respects the security and integrity of your Personal Data. We do not share any of our client’s personal data publically or with third-parties, except when the law requires it.

We will only retain your data collected for as long as necessary to provide you with the service you have requested. You may however, have to provide your Personal Data to us again on occasion where it has been deleted.

As our Client, all your Personal Data is stored in protected databases at addresses that are secure to prevent unauthorised access, which are protected by encryption mechanism, firewalls and passwords. However, data that is transmitted over the internet cannot be guaranteed to be fully secured. Although we take every step to ensure that your Personal Data is protected, please take caution when you transmit your Personal Data over the Internet.

The access to your personal and private data is limited to only the authorised employees of Win Borneo Travel & Tour, and also any of the Third-Party suppliers who require your information for the travel services and other services you have requested for. This includes any services you purchase through Win Borneo Travel & Tour or services that we arrange on your behalf such as transportation services, hotel and other accommodations, tour activities, special diet requirements, and tour guides.

Our policies and procedures with regards to Personal Data and Privacy Protection is informed to our employees, Third-Party suppliers as well as other partners. We also require strict compliance towards the Privacy Policy to ensure your Personal Data is always protected. Therefore, unauthorised access and/or disclosure of any of our Client’s information is strictly prohibited.

If you do not consent to the use of your personal data for receiving any Win Borneo Travel & Tour services and marketing materials, kindly inform us and we will proceed to remove your details from our systems. In not doing so, we take it that you confirm that you agree and accept the terms in our Personal Data Privacy notice.

How Long Will My Personal Data Be Kept In the System?

Your Personal Data will be kept no longer than necessary, which means that we will retain your Personal Data information until we have no more use for it.

Typically, all Personal Data will be stored until the end of a tour, or when our service is no longer needed by the Client. However, it is necessary for us to retain certain information especially for the purpose of carrying out our internal accounting report, which can last up to seven years due to government requirements for the Revenue Department. There is also a possibility of retaining Client’s booking information for up to 10 years for possible claims.

The information that we will retain are:

  • Full name
  • Nationality
  • Occupation
  • Birth date
  • Gender

Any information other than the ones mentioned above will be deleted from our systems.

What Are the Consequences of Failing to Provide My Personal Data?

By not providing us with the Personal Data that we request from you, we may not be able to deliver the services you requested for, which may unable you to complete your transaction with us, take part on our tours and transfers, as well as purchase items from our store; just to name a few. If you have paid a deposit but later refuse to provide us with the necessary Personal Data which we require from you to enable us to process the booking (e.g. tour package(s) which requires your passport details), we will not be able to proceed and may need to cancel your booking. A refund will then be given to you based on our cancellation terms.

By refusing or withdrawing your consent for any purpose that requires us to execute our product or service contract with you or the Company, we will not be able to provide you, or continue to provide you with the product or service you have requested for.

The Privacy Policy of our agency partners and other Third-Parties may differ from ours. So, if you have booked through any Third-Party or agents, you will need to get in touch with that booking agent or the agency with regards to the access, amendment, or deletion of any Personal Data information of yours which they may have.

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time as law requirements and our business may change. Any changes with regards to the policy will be posted on our Privacy Policy page.
